Tuesday November 13, 2012, Regular Board of Trustee meeting

 

 

 

Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 7:00 p.m.

Roll call showed the following present: Trustee Runyon, Price, Kubiak, Miller, Wiles and Birkenbeil. Also present Treasurer Gerdes-Hibsch, Attorney Weeks and Superintendent Maxson.

 

 

A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Price to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

 

Sheriff’s Deputy Sargent Mitchell report: There were 28 calls, 11 citations and 4 warnings. All the junk vehicles have been taken care of. We have addressed the problem with the Deputy that was reported to have miss treated some Citizens it has been taken care of. The new contract was given for review by the board.

 

Trustee Miller has talked with the Engineer about the Governor Quinn Clean Water Initiative he is checking into it. 

 

Terry Hagensee asked the Board for relief for her water bill of $1424.20 caused by a leak and discrepancy between the meter and the reader. Trustee Runyon said we have Ordinance 411 for a one time only adjustment of 50% of the charges that exceed a single billing period. Mrs. Hagensee agreed to pay a minimum of $50 per month plus the future current bills when due.

 

 A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Runyon to use Ordinance 411 on the above matter. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

 

 

 A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Miller to pass Appropriation Ordinance #419. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to un-table the letter from Mayor Robert Walter Jr.  Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil no donation for the Prairie Central Upper Elementary. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to purchase (for the water department) an extended cab F150 with no remote start approximately $24,700. Board of Trustee Roll call: Trustee Miller, Birkenbeil, Wiles, Runyon, Price Yea. Trustee Kubiak Nay. Motion passed 5 Yea 1 Nay.

 

 

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Miller to remove the Base Radio from the office.  Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 Shop with a Cop program is for the needy Children of Livingston County for Christmas: 

 

A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Wiles to donate $250.00 to the Shop with a Cop program. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Kubiak for Christmas Gift Certificates $100 for full Time Employees and $50 for part-time. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to have Superintendent Ledford purchase the needed Concrete Tools to do sidewalks up to $600.00 Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Runyon to purchase 100 flexible axis meters needed for the homes with different type of connections.

 

 Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea: 1 Nay.

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Wiles to pass Budget. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to do the sidewalks and curbs at the East end of Main Street. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

 

Trustee Runyon Report: Would like to have the bricks used to put between the curbs and sidewalk on the new section. Tree Committee to look at the tree across from Bobs Auto may need to be removed.

 

Trustee Wiles: 202 Spruce Street, house still there. Owner has until December 1, 2012 to be removed by Court Order. Nothing has been down with the house on 210 East Oak Street since the fire. We need to start looking into who owns it and what they plan on doing with it.

 

Trustee Birkenbeil: Need to get the garbage contract out for bidding. Existing contract with Central Illinois Recycling and Disposal ends December 31, 2012.

 

Trustee Miller: Chlorine plant needs over hauled or re-built. Putting in a new system will cost about the same as fixing what is wrong. I recommend that we change the Chlorine and Fluoride to the new system at a cost of approximately $8000.00. A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Wiles to go with a new system as stated above.

A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Price to pay bills as presented and issue vouchers for same. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Miller to adjourn at 9:00 p.m.
