Tuesday, July 26, 2011, Regular Board of Trustee meeting
Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 7:30 p.m.
Roll called showed the following present: President Haberkorn, Trustee Price, Runyon, Wiles, and Birkenbeil, Trustee Miller seated at 8:00 pm. Trustee Kubiak absent.
A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Price to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 4 Yea
Sergeant Gragert reported 54 calls and 4 citations for the month of June.
The Board reported to Sergeant Gragert that we have had many complaints on people speeding on residential streets. There are many citizens concerned for the safety of children playing and citizens walking. Sergeant Gragert said he will let our resident Deputy know about the problem.
A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to pay part of the cost ($112.50) for water line repair at 202 East Elm Street.
Roll call: Trustee Birkenbeil, Miller –Yea / Trustee Price, Runyon, Wiles – Nay / Trustee Kubiak absent. Vote: 2 Yeas, 3 Nays, 1 Absent.
President Haberkorn reported the spray patch will be done weather permitting on Friday July 29, 2011 various streets.
Trustee Miller reported on the water rate adjustments. He also stated that the water plant is going to need up dating in the near future. We also have a problem with the east sand filter for sewer, it is not working and we need to think about what can be done to correct the problem. The Board will continue discussion at the next meeting August 9, 2011.
Clerk Kerber reported that the MFT audit went well. Only transfer needed is the interest money of $724.58 in the MFT Walnut fund transferred to the regular MFT fund so we can close the account.
A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Wiles to transfer the interest money to the regular MFT account. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea
The Town of Chatsworth received a check for $1200.00 from OK 2 Farms for road maintenance for the months of July and August.
Superintendent Ledford asked the Board about the grant survey. Are we going to try to change it to use for the water department or leave as is for the main street sidewalk repair?

The Board of Trustees wants to leave the grant as originally planned. Superintendent Ledford will let Paul Brown (Town Engineer) know to move on as originally decided.
President Haberkorn requested a motion to go into Executive Session at 8:30 pm Subject Personnel – Norma Kerber.
A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Price to go into Executive Session on the above subject. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea

A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Miller to come out of Executive Session at 8:50 pm. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea
A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to increase the salary for Norma Kerber Water Collector to $27,000 annually. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea
A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Wiles to pay bills as presented and issue vouchers for same. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea
A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Price to adjourn.
