Thursday July 11, 2013, regular Board of Trustee Meeting
Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 7:00 p.m.
Roll call showed the following present: President Richard Runyon, Trustees Galen Schaffer, Terry Miller, Nick Kubiak, Josh bell, Will Price and Shane Bell.
Also present Treasurer Gerdes-Hibsch and Superintendent Ledford and Sheriff Martin Meredith.
A motion by Trustee Josh Bell and seconded by Trustee Terry Miller to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea
Sheriff’s Deputy Sergeant Mitchell report: There were 65 calls, 9 citations and 6 warnings for the month of June. Two sex offenders were arrested for being in the park.
There have been Teenagers that have been verbally abusive and threatening to younger children. There was a Law and Order meeting at 6:00 tonight before this Board meeting.
Sheriff Martin Meredith was here to answer questions on what we can do about the problems we are having in the Parks. We have park rules and they need enforced.
The Town can issue NO TRESSPASS warnings to anyone including the juveniles’ we have been having problems with. They will no longer be allowed in any Town Parks until they come to the Board with their parents to have the restriction lifted. If they return to the parks they will be in trouble, fined and possibly arrested depending on the age of the person.
A motion by Will Price and seconded by Terry Miller to issue warnings to the three (3) individuals who harassed the younger children and a couple of adults.

The Town has only received 1 bid for the work at the Park Pavilion. The bid was from Lowery Painting for $3878.00. A motion by Trustee Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Miller to put the job back out for bid. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Miller to hire Barbara Sterrenberg for Housekeeping at the Town Hall rate of $12.00 per hour. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Miller to hire Mindy Marcum as the part time Deputy Clerk. Wage rate will be decided at next meeting. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Schaffer to rent a 40’ boom lift from Sunbelt (for tree work in Town) at a rate of $1587.90 for 4 weeks. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea
Gordon Schroen asked the Board for permission to hold his Tour De Chatsworth bicycle competition basically the same as last year. Need permission to close selected streets as last year for a few hours: Tour De Chatsworth bicycle competition on September 7th 2013.
A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to allow Gordon Schroen to have the Tour De Chatsworth bicycle competition on September 7th 2013 with permission to close selected streets for a few hours. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Price to purchase a bicycle rack that will hold eight (8) bicycles. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea
President Runyon handed out information on a DCEO grant for lighting for the Town Hall, sewer plant and shop. He asked that all the Board members review the information and we will consider at the next meeting.
A motion by Trustee Schaffer and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to hire J & J machines to remove footings and move dirt on south side of main street at a cost of $400.00.
