Tuesday, July 10, 2012, Regular Board of Trustee meeting

 

 

Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 8:00 p.m.

Roll call showed the following present: Trustee Wiles, Miller, Birkenbeil, Kubiak, and Runyon.

Trustee Price seated at 8:05 pm. Also present Treasurer Gerdes-Hibsch, Superintendent Ledford and Maxson. 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Wiles to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea

 

 

Sheriff’s Deputy Sargent Gragert reported there were 50 calls, 11 citations and 22 warnings for the month of June.  

 

Josh Harms running for the 106th House District in Illinois introduced himself to the Board.

 

 

A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to pass Ordinance #416 an ordinance ascertaining the prevailing rate of wages for laborers, workmen and mechanics employed on public works.  Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea - Trustee Miller Nay.

 

We have received from IDOT for MFT street work the Acceptance of Proposal to Furnish Materials and Approval of Award Operation #1 to General Materials, Inc. at a cost of $12,135.00 and Operation #2 to Grosso Trucking, Inc. at a cost of $5,150.00.

 

Susan Janyes from the Illinois Municipal League gave an insurance quote for Town Property to the Board of Trustees.

 

Superintendent Maxson – Dead End Fire Hydrants – There is several in Town that were not looped. Need direction from the Board.

 

Mary Fisher-Miller Director of the Chatsworth Township Library announced that the Library did get a grant of $1,171,650 to build the new Library: Still need to raise $350,000 to have enough funds to go ahead with the project.

 

President Haberkorn Report: The Burr Oaks relay for life Tractor Drive was a success. We had 97 to 108 Tractors in town July 7, 2012. They all enjoyed coming to Chatsworth and thank everyone who came out to see them.

 

 

A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to purchase six (6) smoking stands for Main Street at a cost of $75.00 or less. Board of Trustee vote 6 Yea

 

A motion by Trustee Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to purchase 210 East Cherry Street for back taxes so we can remove the house and clean up the lot.

 

 Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

Clerk Kerber: There has been a lot of positive feedback from the Citizens of the Town on the sidewalk at the Post Office.

 

 

 

President Haberkorn request for a motion to go into executive session at 9:35 p.m. – subject personnel:  Section 2 (c) (1) Employee hiring, firing, compensation, discipline and performance. A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to go into executive session at 9:35 p.m. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

A motion by Price and seconded by Trustee Miller to come out of executive session at 9:55 pm.

 

Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

 

 

A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Miller to pay bills as presented and issue vouchers for same. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea

 

A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Wiles to adjourn.
