Tuesday, May 30, 2013, regular Board of Trustee Meeting

 

Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 7:00 p.m.

 

Roll call showed the following present: President Runyon, Trustees Terry Miller, Will Price, Josh Bell, Nick Kubiak, Shane Bell and Galen Schaffer: Also present Treasurer Gerdes-Hibsch, Attorney Weeks, Superintendent Ledford and Maxson.

 

A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea

 

Attorney Weeks Report: The property at 202 East Spruce has been settled and the house has been removed. Properties 505 East Walnut and 604 East Spruce have not complied with the court order, will be filing a rule to show cause.

A motion by Trustee Galen Schaffer and seconded by Trustee Josh Bell to pass Ordinance 421 Prevailing wage. Board of Trustee votes: 5 Yea, 1 Nay. Motion passed.

 

A motion by Trustee Terry Miller and seconded by Trustee Will Price to hire Linda Kinney and Jeff Dehm as the part time help for the Town. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea

 

The Town is looking for a housekeeper. The Clerk will get it posted.

 

The last Board voted to match the funds of $800 donated last year for banners for Main Street. President Runyon asked the new Board for a motion for the same. A motion by Trustee Terry Miller and seconded by Trustee Nick Kubiak to match the donated $800.00.

A motion by Trustee Terry Miller and seconded by Trustee Josh Bell to donate $1500.00 to The Heritage Days 2013 to help pay for the Tent Rental and other expenses.

A motion by Trustee Shane Bell and seconded by Trustee Terry Miller to transfer $11,700 from the General Fund to the Law Enforcement fund to cover the 3rd Quarter payment to Livingston County Sheriff’s  contract (total quarterly payment $15,200.63). Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea

 

Ordinance #369 expense reimbursement for Chairpersons pays everyone $300.00 per year for expenses except Civil Defense. President Runyon has changed the responsibilities more evenly.  A motion by Trustee Nick Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Terry Miller to change ordinance all Trustee reimbursement $300.00 per year for Chairpersons. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea

 

The Town received 1 (one) bid on the 2 (two) trees that need to be removed: One in the Mini Park and one on East Spruce. Robisky Tree Service bid $300 for both trees. A motion by Trustee Nick Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Terry Miller to accept the bid of $300 for both trees.

Vintage Tractors of the 20th Century will be in Town on June 15th 2013. Last Year we had a Relay for Life Tractor Drive in Town. The Town made Pork Burgers for anyone who was on the Drive at the American Legion Post 613 at a cost of $300.  A motion by Trustee Nick Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Shane Bell to donate an estimated $300.00 to feed the participants of the Vintage Tractors of the 20th Century on June 15, 2013. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea

 

We have had vandalism in Town at several locations. The Town encourages the Public to get involved and call the Police when they see something going on. We will review the Park rules at the next meeting. A motion by Trustee Galen Schaffer and seconded by Trustee Terry Miller to offer a $250.00 reward for information that results in the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators. Board of Trustee votes: 6 Yea

 

Trustee Galen Schaffer: Toby’s will be here next week (weather permitting) to do the fill in on the Side Walk on Main Street. They will come after Heritage Days to finish the rest of the Project after heritage Days. MFT Street work this year will be on Oak and Elm Streets.

 

Trustee Nick Kubiak: The Girl Scouts will be here next week to Paint the Pavilion.

 

Wayne Dohman asked that the Town Employees look at the water issue near his residence when they can.

 

 David Diller asked that the Town consider giving CAPS a bulk water rate for the Pool.

Water committee will meet on Monday night to review options for the next Board meeting.

 

A motion by Trustee Terry Miller and seconded by Trustee Josh Bell to pay bills as presented and issue vouchers for same. Board of Trustee vote: 6Yea

 

A motion by Trustee Will Price and seconded by Trustee Nick Kubiak to adjourn at8:10 pm.
